ALPECO team up with Maxi Haulage to deliver AdBlue

Custom portable, self-contained engine driven pump

When MAXI Haulage of Irvine in Ayreshire needed a purpose built product to assist with their deliveries, they turned to Aylesbury-based Alpeco Limited. For more than 30 years Maxi Haulage have been a leading provider of haulage, distribution and logistics services throughout mainland UK and Ireland. From their extensive network of conveniently located depots the company’s experienced and motivated staff combine the very latest information technology with a large, modern fleet of vehicles to provide their clients with unrivalled service and economy for all their logistics needs.

Alpeco designed, built and delivered a purpose built product to MAXI Haulage, the latest in an impressive line-up of new customers. Maxi Haulage secured a contract with Total UK against stiff opposition for the delivery of Total’s packed goods and now for the delivery of ADBLUE, an additive that is injected into modern day truck exhaust systems in order to neutralise the harmful elements of diesel exhaust gases, thereby enabling trucks, vans and large lorries comply with current European emission laws.

Having taken the brief, Alpeco designed and manufactured a portable, self-contained engine driven pump for the bulk transfer of ADBLUE from 1,000 litre capacity truck mounted plastic containers called IBC’S, to customers’ bulk storage tanks. The Alpeco pump unit is housed in a steel frame built to the same dimensions as an IBC. The new pump can be loaded easily onto a lorry alongside full IBC containers and when arriving at a client’s depot it can be used to off-load the ADBLUE.

Robin Allen, a Director of Maxi Haulage Limited enthused. ‘This is the first time we have worked with Alpeco and from the outset we were impressed with the way they worked. In fact the original contact came via Total and the whole exercise has been a complete success. We are very happy with everything.’
